History of Islamic Civilisation in South Asia

The aim of the Centre in this area is to monitor the research activity that is carried out around the world and help to disseminate information on these studies by means of publications, by organising seminars and establishing international exchange among researchers.


The papers of the international seminar on Islamic History, Art and Culture in South Asia were published in 1995 under the title Islam in South Asia, by the Institute of Islamic Culture, Lahore, with the collaboration of the Academy of Letters, Islamabad, as their joint publication with IRCICA. The book has a Preface by IRCICA Director General Prof. Dr. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, an Introduction by the editors, Dr. Rashid Ahmad (Jullundhri) and Dr. Muhammad Afzal Qarshi, and ten important papers by scholars renown in their field.
