ORGANIZATION OF THE ISLAMIC CONFERENCE LOGO COMPETITION
The Promoter: The Organization of the Islamic Conference, abbreviated as O.I.C.
Object of the Competition: Design a new emblem (logo) for the O.I.C. to reflect the renewed aspiration of the Muslim World of bringing about changes towards the path of moderation and modernization.
Type of Competition: A design competition will be organized in two phases among the participants from the OIC Member States, with prizes awarded by a panel of judges, referred to as the Jury.
Participants: Professional /Private/Graphic designers, Arts and Design academics, senior students working in the field of Art and Design, organizations/institutes working in the field of designing, multidisciplinary teams lead by professional or renowned designers of the OIC Member States.
Criteria:
01. The Emblem should be original, modern, abstract and dynamic;
02. The Emblem should be the symbolic representation of the common denominator that brings the 57 Member States together from different corners of the world under one umbrella i.e. the feeling of Islamic Solidarity;
03. The color(s)/symbol(s)/ used in the Emblem should be vibrant and reflective of Islamic Culture;
04. The Emblem should be functional and easy to use. For instance, from the functional point of view it is not advisable to use the verses from the Holy Quran in the Emblem as the respectful status of Quranic verses limits the use of the Emblem in certain places;
05. The Emblem should reflect the spirit of the two dynamic concepts "moderation" and "modernization" adopted by the leaders of the Muslim World during the historic Makkah Summit in 2005;
06. There is no specific shape preference for the Emblem. As per the opinion of the Jury, the shape that better includes all the criteria defined above would get the preference;
07. All standard technical specifications (CMYK color, jpg format, high resolution etc) required for an international standard Emblem need to be maintained;

09. Participants should attach a detailed CV along with their entries;
10. Participants should agree to be bound by the rules and conditions of the competition as decided by the OIC;
11. The Jury reserves the right to select or discard any design submitted for the competition.
Selection of proposals: In Phase One the Jury will short list a number of proposals on the basis of the merit of the ideas and other criteria. A selected number of participants will then be invited to present their proposals in Phase Two, which will lead to the selection of the winner.
Jury: The Jury shall be composed of seven members, one legal adviser and a coordinator of the competition.

Yarışmanın konusu: İslam Dünyasının itidal ve modernizasyon yolunda canlandırdığı yeni hedefi yansıtacak bir O.I.C. amblemi (logo) tasarlamak.
Yarışmanın türü: O.I.C. Üye ülkelerinden tasarımcıların katılacağı yarışma iki aşamada düzenlenecektir; ödüller Jüri tarafından verilecektir.
Katılımcılar: Profesyonel/ Özel/ Grafik Tasarımcıları, Sanat ve Tasarım akademisyenleri, Sanat ve Tasarım konusunda çalışan son sınıf öğrencileri, tasarım konusunda çalışan organizasyonlar/müesseseler, OIC üye Ülkelerindeki profesyonel veya tanınmış tasarımcılar tarafından yönlendirilen multidisipliner timler.
Kriterler:
01. Amblem orijinal, modern, soyut ve dinamik olmalıdır.
02. Amblem dünyanın çeşitli bölgelerinden 57 Üye Devletini bir şemsiye altında toplayan ortak paydanın, yani İslam Dayanışmasının, sembolik ifadesi olmalıdır.
03. Amblemde kullanılan renk(ler)/sembol(ler) canlı olmalı ve İslam kültürünü yansıtmalıdır.
04. Amblem, fonksiyonel ve kullanımı kolay olmalıdır. Mesela Kur'an-ı Kerimden ayetlerin kullanılması fonksiyonel yönden tavsiye edilmez; Kur'an ayetlerinin saygınlığı amblemin kullanım yerlerini kısıtlayabilir.
05. Amblem, 2005 tarihinde yapılan tarihi Mekke Zirvesinde İslam Dünyasının liderleri tarafından kabul edilen iki dinamik konseptin, "itidal" ve "modernizasyon" ruhunu yansıtmalıdır.
06. Amblemin şekli için özel bir tercih bulunmamaktadır. Jürinin takdirine göre yukarıda belirtilen kriterleri ihtiva eden en iyi şekil tercih edilecektir.
07. Standart milletlerarası bir amblem için gerekli olan bütün standart spesifikasyonların (CMYK renk, jpg format, yüksek çözünürlük, vs) sağlanması gerekmektedir.
08. Yarışmaya katılımlar email ile oiclogo@oic-oci.org adresine veya CD olarak (Organization of the Islamic Conference, PO Box 178, Jeddah, 21411, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) gönderilebilir.
09. Katılımcılar eserleri ile birlikte detaylı özgeçmişlerini de yollamalıdırlar.
10. Katılımcılar O.I.C.nin koyduğu kurallara ve şartlara uymayı kabul edeceklerdir.
11. Jüri yarışma için sunulan herhangi bir tasarımı kabul etme veya ret etme hakkına sahiptir.
Tasarımların Seçimi: Jüri Birinci Aşamada başvuruları fikir ve diğer kriterler açısından ön elemeye tabi tutacaktır. İkinci Aşamada belirlenen sayıda katılımcının tasarımlarını takdim etmek üzere davet edilmelerinden sonra, jüri kazanan tasarımı seçecektir.
Jüri: Jüri yedi üye, bir hukuk danışmanı ve yarışma koordinatöründen oluşur.
