Ceremony to introduce the ‘Comprehensive Catalogue of Manuscripts in the Hagia Sophia Library’ held at IRCICA

The ceremony to announce the publication “Comprehensive Catalogue of Manuscripts in the Hagia Sophia Library” which has been prepared by the Presidency of the Manuscripts Institution of Türkiye (TÜYEK) and Al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation (London) under the coordination of IRCICA, was held at IRCICA on 8 October 2025. An international audience from universities and cultural institutions attended the ceremony, which was addressed by the Director General of IRCICA Prof. Mahmud Erol Kılıç; the Director of Süleymaniye Manuscripts Library Mr. Salih Kahriman; Prof. Dr. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, member of Al-Furqan Foundation Board of Directors, former OIC Secretary General; Mr. Sharaf Yamani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Furqan Foundation. Dr. Attallah Alrawashdeh, Assistant Head of Research and Publications, IRCICA, moderated the ceremony and gave information about the book and the collections it covers. The speakers briefed the audience on the collaborative project and the stages of its implementation, which resulted in a 13-volume catalogue covering more than four thousand manuscripts.
