The World Forum “Islamic Civilization: The Great Spiritual and Scientific Heritage of Uzbekistan, New Horizons of Enlightenment and Dialogue” coordinated by the Center of Islamic Civilization, Tashkent, and UNESCO on 7 October 2026 in Paris, generated fruitful scholarly and diplomatic exchanges on ways to reinforce the universal values of peace and mutual understanding, enlightenment and freedom of thought, respect for cultural diversity, and the preservation of heritage. The Forum concept indicated that with this aim, meaningful inspiration and guidance can be derived from the spiritual and intellectual heritage of the past by comprehending this heritage from contemporary perspectives.
A scholarly-diplomatic study was presented to the World Forum by the Director General of IRCICA Prof. Dr. Mahmud Erol Kılıç, titled “Spiritual and Enlightenment Heritage and Modern Development”. In this study, Prof. Kılıç analyzed the pertinence of the Forum’s concept aimed at deepening awareness around the world on the contributions of different cultures, periods and regions to the progress of civilization; this endeavor can promote analytical perspectives of world audiences about the composition of global science and information and thus underscore the shared and divergent aspects of the respective inputs, thus contributing to strengthening genuine understandings of the universal values.
