This volume comprises the proceedings of the International Symposium on “Islamic Civilisation in Eastern Africa”, held in Kampala, Uganda on 15-17 December 2003. The symposium, jointly organized by IRCICA and the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), brought together a wide array of distinguished scholars and researchers affiliated with universities, international organizations, cultural and educational institutions from around the globe.
