IRCICA Director General addressed Interfaith Dialogue online conference (Kazakhstan)

IRCICA Director General Prof. Mahmud Erol Kılıç gave an address at the conference on “The Role of Religious Leaders in Achieving Sustainable Peace” which was coordinated by the International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue, Astana, Kazakhstan, in online format on 21 May 2025. Opened by Mr. Marat Kalizkhanov, Acting Chairman of the Board of the International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue, and addressed by Mr. Anuar Khatiyev, Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs, Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, the conference received the speeches of religious authorities, institutional delegates, scholars and experts from around the world. At the threshold of the Eighth Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions to take place in September 2025, the conference aimed to appraise international collaborative efforts to promote interfaith and intercultural dialogue and to acknowledge religious leaders’ roles towards building a just and conflict-free world. In his detailed paper addressed to the conference, Professor Kılıç emphasized the importance of the key role of religious leaders in strengthening all believers’ conscience and responsibility to cooperate for tackling the multiple challenges humanity faces in the present time.
