Prof. Mahmud Erol Kılıç, Director General of IRCICA, accompanied by Prof. Cengiz Tomar, Head of Research and Publications, held meetings with the administrators and members of the University of Sharjah (UoS), United Arab Emirates, on 5 July 2023. The program of the visit started with the lecture of Professor Kılıç titled “History and Mission of IRCICA and Its Prospectus: Academic and Research Cooperation with the University of Sharjah (UoS)” hosted by the Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences through its Director, Prof. Mesut Idriz, and the Research Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences through its Director, Prof. Faker Al Gharaibeh. The lecture was attended by faculty members, researchers, postgraduate students and other members of the University. Professor Kılıç presented the topic through the lens of the evolution of the goals of IRCICA over more than four decades since its inception within the framework of OIC objectives and in response to international cultural developments; based on this overview, Prof. Kılıç outlined the prospective thematic and practical orientations of the Centre’s activities. The lecture ended with questions and answers.
Following the lecture, Prof. Kılıç had a meeting with Prof. Hamid Al Naimiy, Chancellor of UoS, with the participation of Prof. Cengiz Tomar, Prof. Mesut İdriz and Prof. Faker Al Gharaibeh. The two sides exchanged information and discussed the possibilities of undertaking collaborative projects in areas of common interest.
