The international conference on “Multidimensional Perspectives on Korea-Muslim World Relations: History, Culture, Economy and International Relations” was organized by IRCICA and Seoul National University Asia Center (SNUAC). The one-day conference was held on 12 May 2025 in the main campus of Seoul National University. The opening ceremony included addresses by the Director of SNUAC Prof. Suhong Chae, IRCICA Director General Prof. Mahmud Erol Kılıç, Prof. Emeritus Hee Soo Lee from Hanyang University and the Ambassador of Türkiye in Seoul Mr. Murat Tamer.
The main theme of the first session was “History and Culture” in which Prof. Jin Jan Jeong (Anyang University), Prof. Hamid Choi (Myongji University – Korea Muslim Federation), Dr. Siavash Saffari (Seoul National University) and Dr. Alaaddin Tekin (Ankara Social Sciences University) made their academic presentations. The second session on “Economy and International Relations” heard the presentations of Prof. Sadık Ünay (IRCICA), Prof. Kangsuk Kim (Hankuk University), Prof. Ali Akkemik (Fukuoka University-Japan), Dr. Süleyman Elik (İstanbul Medeniyet University) and Dr. Kwon Hyung Lee (Korea Institute for International Economic Policy-KIEP).
Moreover, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation was signed between IRCICA and SNUAC delineating the framework of future cooperation on various research and training activities for five years.
