The international conference themed “Manuscript Heritage of Kazakhstan: Preservation, Scholarship, and Digital Humanities” took place in Almaty, on 2-3 June 2026. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Astana IT University, Akhmet Yassawi University, Gylym Ordasi museums center, Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies (USA), IRCICA, and the Manuscripts Institution of Türkiye. IRCICA’s contributions to the conference have featured the paper by Prof. Dr. Cengiz Tomar, Head of Research and Publications, titled “Mamluk Manuscripts as Sources for Kipchak History” (online) and Prof. Dr. Ashirbek Muminov, professor of Central Asian Studies, titled “Kazakhstan’s Experience in the Study of Muslim Manuscripts”. The conference received paper presentations by specialists in different areas of studies on historical manuscripts, participating from various countries, Central Asian countries in particular.
