IRCICA participated in the Coordination Meeting of OIC Institutions

The Sixth Annual Coordination Meeting of OIC Institutions (ACMOI) took place at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the OIC in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 14-15 December 2022. H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of OIC, welcomed the representatives of the subsidiary organs, specialized and affiliated institutions, commissions and offices of the OIC headquartered in different countries, emphasizing the need to enhance coordination in the elaboration of a successor program to the current 2015-2025 Program of Action for 2026-2035. The Secretary General noted that “ACMOI’s consultations give the OIC and its institutions an opportunity to review priorities and joint actions towards addressing common challenges and help Member Countries in the face of the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic compounded by climate change, natural hazards, and conflicts, among other challenges, in addition to the implementation of OIC programs and initiatives in the various sectors.” (www.oic-oci.org)

The IRCICA delegation composed by Prof. Dr. Aboubacar A. Senghore, Assistant Director General (Head of Delegation) and Prof. Dr. Sadık Ünay (Acting Head of Research and Publications) presented reports on the achievements of IRCICA in the context of the OIC’s current work plan (2015-2025) since the 5th meeting of ACMOI in 2019 and contributed to the planning of work for the period ahead in areas relating to IRCICA’s mandate. New plans were adopted, covering both ongoing assignments of the institutions and new requirements emanating from the latest Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) resolutions and decisions of other OIC Ministerial Conferences.
