Lecture about the book “Libya in the Ottoman Archive Documents” published by IRCICA Tripoli, Libya, 11 July 2026

Within the framework of the “Libya’s Cultural Season” annual event organized by the Ministry of Culture and Cognitive Development of the Government of National Unity of Libya, the book “Libya in the Ottoman Archive Documents” published IRCICA in 2026 was presented to a learned audience with a lecture delivered on 11 July 2026 in Tripoli, by its author Prof. Dr. Fazıl Bayat (Consultant for IRCICA on projects). The event was attended by over one hundred specialists and researchers from universities and cultural centers. In this lecture, Prof. Bayat explained the importance of the Ottoman Archive attached to the State Archives of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye as a source for studying the history of Libya, showed examples of different subjects and types of Ottoman the official documents contained in the archive, and outlined the studies and publications conducted by IRCICA on the history of different Muslim countries based on the Ottoman Archive.
