6th International Conference on “Islamic Civilization in Central Asia: Past and Present” coordinated by the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and IRCICA

The 6th International Conference on “Islamic Civilization in Central Asia: Past and Present” organized by the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan (Tashkent), the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and IRCICA, took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in hybrid format, on 16 September 2025. A total of 19 research papers on a variety of themes were presented in Uzbek, Arabic, English and Turkish. Following the opening address of Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Kamilov, Rector of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the greetings address of IRCICA Director General Prof. Dr. Mahmud Erol Kılıç was read on his behalf by Prof. Dr. Ashirbek Muminov, Advisor for Central Asian Studies and External Relations at IRCICA. The opening session was addressed by the following personalities: Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Khaliknazar, Chairman of the Muslims Board of Uzbekistan; Prof. Dr. Nematulla Ibrahimov, Rector of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences; Assoc. Prof. Abdulhay Abdullayev from the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan; Prof. Dr. Sodiq Toshbayev, Chairman of the Religious Affairs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Prof. Dr. Gulchehra Rixsiyeva, Rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. During the working sessions, nine papers were presented by participants from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, USA and Uzbekistan in presence in Tashkent, and ten others were contributed by experts from IRCICA via online connection. Prof. Ashirbek Muminov from IRCICA moderated the sessions together with Prof. Dr. Nematulla Muhamedov from the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan. As in earlier conferences, the proceedings are published in book form for international accessibility.
