International conference on “Islamic Civilization in Central Asia: Past and Present”

The International Conference on “Islamic Civilization in Central Asia: Past and Present” was coordinated jointly by IRCICA and the IRCICA Chair for Islamic History and Source Studies at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, in online format, on 16 October 2023. The opening session heard the addresses of the Academy’s Rector Dr. Uygun Gafurov and, on behalf of IRCICA Director General Prof. Mahmud Erol Kılıç, Prof. Cengiz Tomar, Head of Research and Publications. During the working session, papers on various subjects ranging from studies on historical manuscripts to the works of prominent scholars of Central Asia were presented by experts from the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, Imam Bukhari International Research Center, the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, Imam Termizi International Scientific Research Center, and Imam Maturidi International Research Center (Uzbekistan); Hacı Bayram Veli University (Türkiye) as well as by experts from IRCICA. The conference was part of an annual series that is conducted within the framework of the activities of the IRCICA Chair for Islamic History and Source Studies.
