IRCICA was honoured to receive H.E. Mr. Awn Shawkat Al-Khasawneh, Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on its premises on Friday, 16 December 2011. IRCICA Director General Dr. Halit Eren briefed the Prime Minister on the Centre’s activities in general and its cooperation with the Government and cultural institutions of Jordan. Dr. Eren said that the newest example of projects resulting from this cooperation was the conference on the Ottoman Traveler Evliya Çelebi which was going to start in Amman in two days time, on 18 December, for which Al-Albeit University and IRCICA had collaborated. The Prime Minister was then guided to the Centre’s library, where he received information on the library’s holdings and IRCICA’s own publications.
